Johnny Salazar is originally from Highland Park, California. Johnny has been a part of the Seventh Generation Fund team since 2014 when he began as a Data Entry Intern. Johnny is a recent Humboldt State University graduate having earned his Bachelors in Social Work.
Johnny’s passion for social justice is rooted in his uncle’s involvement as a revolutionary guerrilla fighter in the Salvadorian Civil War. Johnny hopes to continue the legacy of his uncle by engaging and assisting brothers and sisters across Abya Yala who fight for self-determination, environmental justice, and decolonization.
In addition to his work with Seventh Generation Fund, Johnny volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children who are entering or going through the foster care system. He also enjoys visiting the beach, hiking through the Redwood forest, and exploring the surrounding landscape with his dog, Lady.
