Tupac is a long time activist for Indigenous peoples’ rights and is a founder and coordinator for the community based organization TONATIERRA in Phoenix, Arizona. He served as a representative for the TLAHTOKAN AZTLAN to both United Nations Human Rights Commission and the United Nation Working Group on Indigenous populations in Geneva, Switzerland. He was also awarded the Alston-Bannerman award for activism in 2004.
