Re-Indigenizing Wellness with Well For Culture

Today, WELL FOR CULTURE’s Chelsey Luger (Lakota/Anishinaabe) and Thosh Collins (Akimel O’odham/Haudenosaunee) demonstrate the power of revitalizing ancestral wellness practices — holistic lifeways that have existed in Indigenous communities since time immemorial. They share with us about their grassroots project and movement-building, as well as offer an at-home exercise for this time of quarantine and beyond.

Chelsey Luger and Thosh Collins are the co-founders of WELL FOR CULTURE, an Indigenous Wellness Initiative which aims to reclaim active lifestyles, ancestral foodways, and holistic wellness practices in Native communities and beyond. Luger and Collins are also trainers for the Native Wellness Institute, a non-profit organization based in Gresham, Oregon, which has been a leader in the wellness conversation in Native Country for over 30 years.
